Hello friend {Mo’s Digital Pencil}

Hi, crafty friends. I haven’t shared many cards recently, and I apologize for that – there have just been too many things lately needing my attention, and it means less time in the craft room. I do have a new card today, though (yay), featuring this cute Peaches image from Mo Manning. I’ve used this one before, and it’s very summery. I’m holding onto summer (or at least the idea of summer, we didn’t really have much of a summer this year) for dear life, even though the leaves are changing colors and falling like it’s all they know how to do.

I colored her up with my Copics and kept the panel intact this time. No die cutting, no nothing. I adhered it directly to a top fold A2 card base and put a torn piece of patterned paper at the top. The paper is from the Watercolor Wishes pad from Lawn Fawn, and I white heat embossed triangles onto it to create a little more interest, using the Scattered Triangles Background stamp from My Favorite Things.

I used a small circle die to create notches near the top of the card. I stamped a sentiment from the Mini messages stamp set from Mama Elephant using Obsidian ink from Altenew onto a piece of patterned paper from the Watercolor Wash Brights paper pad from My Favorite Things, and die cut it with one of the dies in the Blueprints 27 die set from My Favorite Things. I put foam tape on the back and adhered it to my card, before adding some black twine to the card, tying it in a bow at the top of the die cut. The notches help keep the twine in place. I finished off with a few pearls from the Meadow mix from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards.

I love using Rs and YRs to create peach colors.

Hooray {Rachelle Anne Miller}

Hi, crafty friends. It’s time to celebrate, because there’s a brand new release from Rachelle Anne Miller today. It’s Penguin Party! This scene creator set consists of an igloo with a party clad penguin peeking outside as well as five other penguins, a present, some stars and a couple of sentiments. This set has me so excited – I love anything even remotely penguin related, and this is right up my alley.

I used the igloo with the peeking penguin and only added one small penguin for this simple card. I didn’t even use the entire igloo, I like the look of the design coming in from the side like this. I colored the image with Copics and used a die in the Additional A2 Layers die set from Waffle Flower to turn it into a nice panel and adhered it to a top fold card base I created from Peacock cardstock from Concord & 9th.

Using the Hooray Script die from Mama Elephant, I cut three die cut layers from Watermelon cardstock from Concord & 9th, which I stacked for a little bit of dimension. I white heat embossed a sentiment from the Birthday messages stamp set from Mama Elephant on a strip of Peacock cardstock. I added a few more layers of cardstock behind it and adhered it below the die cut part of the greeting, before finishing off the card with a few sequins from the Ice Water mix from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards.

Mostly BGs for this card. I love my BGs.

You are so worth celebrating {Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios}

Hi, crafty friends! There’s a new release coming next week from Rachelle Anne Miller which has me super excited. It has a theme I love and a type of critter I simply can’t resist – a little tease for you there. Today’s card, however, is created using an oldie, but goodie stamp. This is the Animal Parade, and I know I keep saying so many of Rachelle’s images are among my favorites, but they really are, and this is another one. I’ve used this image once before on this card. This time I cut the image apart and used the critters individually to create postage stamps on my card.

I colored the images with Copics, then used the Postage Collage die from Waffle Flower to create stamps.

I added Solar Paste in the Golden Hour color onto Lemon Tart cardstock from Papertrey Ink using the Merry Go Round stencil from Memory Box. I wanted a little bit of interest in the background, but nothing too distracting, and this worked really well. I added the panel to a top fold white card base I created from Stamper’s Select White cardstock from Papertrey Ink.

I added scraps of cardstock behind my die cuts to give them a little lift off my card and adhered them pretty much in the center of the card.

I stamped a sentiment from the Anything-but Basic Birthday Wishes stamp set from My Favorite Things onto Spring Rain cardstock from Papertrey Ink using Obsidian ink from Altenew. I cut the sentiment down to a strip and added a few layers of cardstock behind it before adhering it to the card.

I finished off with a few sequins from the White Orchid Sequin mix from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards.

Fairly muted color palette for this one.

Christmas hug {Kort & Godt}

Hi, crafty friends. I’m sharing a simple card today with some goodies from Kort & Godt.

I had a dry embossed white panel in my stash I thought I’d put to good use (I used the Snowflake Confetti fancy die from Hero Arts with an embossing mat to create this texture).

I die cut a scribbled circle and a couple of layers of a poinsettia from Ocean Tides cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I used the same color cardstock to create my card base and mounted my white panel at an angle to create a dynamic design.

I adhered the circle with a tiny bit of glue where my leaves would cover it, making the rest of the circle float above the rest.

I cut apart the poinsettia petals to use as leaves and inked over them with Eucalyptus and Rainforest inks from Concord & 9th. I adhered the large ones with a bit of foam behind each leaf for dimension, but glued the smaller ones straight down at the base of the leaves.

Using liquid glue, I added three large berries to the center of my leaf arrangement before finishing off with a sticker, which I put slivers of foam on the back of for even more lift. I like that it kind of floats above the rest.

Hello – you’re amazing {Papiria}

Hi, crafty friends. I have a fun shaker card to share with you today, featuring the Kite Builder die set and Kite Strings stamp set from Concord & 9th.

I die cut the base of the kite from white cardstock and ink blended a gradient from the bottom using Oceanside and Aqua Sky inks from Concord & 9th. I taped the base die and the die that creates the wiring together and used it to crate my walls, snipping away the cross in the center on all but one of the layers. I filled the shaker with an embellishment mix from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards, closed it with a piece of acetate and put a white die cut kite on top.

I cut some cardstock down to different widths, stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set onto one of the strips and adhered them at an angle onto a piece of Soft Stone cardstock from Papertrey Ink. The strip colors are Oceanside, Aqua Sky, Lemongrass, Buttercup, Clementine and Watermelon, all from Concord & 9th.

I mounted the panel onto a white card base, white heat embossed another sentiment from the stamp set onto black cardstock, added that to the card using foam tape and adhered the kite to the card.

Using black cardstock, I die cut the kite string and a bow in the die set, adhered them to the card and finished off with a few black enamel dots from Altenew.

God jul {Kort & Godt}

Hi, crafty friends. I shared this very simple Christmas card on the Kort & Godt gallery blog last week, but thought I’d share here, as well.

I love the new image sheets from Kort & Godt, and the Christmas ones they just released are AWESOME! I used one of the blue ones for this card and decided to fussy cut the wreath. This is pretty easy to fussy cut leaving a white border. I used the Snowflake Oval Frame embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp on a piece of Fine Linen cardstock from Papertrey Ink to create some texture to my background. I cropped off quite a bit on the edges and used a blue cotton thread from Kort & Godt to add a little something to the design.

I mounted my embossed panel onto a card base I created from Blue Beyond cardstock from My Favorite Things. I used the same color cardstock to die cut my sentiment. I stacked two, so they would be a little sturdier, mounted the wreath in the top center, adhered God directly to the wreath and jul onto the embossed piece. And that’s it, I didn’t add any embellishments to this.

Blooming Delight {Papiria}

Hi, crafty friends. I’m sharing two cards today, featuring the Blooming Delight set from Altenew. This is a bundle with a stamp aet, a die set and a stencil set that all coordinate. I used the stamps and dies for these cards.

The floral stamp in the stamp set is big!!! I stamped it using Extreme Black ink from My Favorite Things onto X-Press It blending card and colored it with Copics, before using the coordinating die to cut it out. It’s too big to fit on a standard size card, so I decided to cut it apart and got two cards from it.

On the first card, I stamped the floral image again, this time on Powder cardstock from Concord & 9th. I used Fadeout ink from Inkon3 because I wanted a super soft look that didn’t compete with the focal image.

I popped up the flower on foam tape, added a layered sentiment I created using the coordinating die set and finished off with a few ombré glitter drops from Pinkfresh Studio.

On the second card, I used the Angled Mosaic embossing folder on a quarter sheet of Aqua Sky cardstock from Concord & 9th. I stamped and white heat embossed a Kort & Godt sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock, added my cut flower behind it and popped it all on foam tape for dimension.

I used a few black gems from Papirdesign to pick up the black from the sentiment strip.

I used a fairly limited amount of Copics, especially given how large this image originally is.

Happy birthday {Rachelle Anne Miller}

Hi, crafty friends. Today’s release day at Rachelle Anne Miller with this cute Candy Shop Creator set.

I used the boy, the girl and the stand and created a cute scene in Photoshop that I printed on X-Press It blending card and colored with Copics.

I chose to keep the scene pretty big and there wasn’t too much room for a sentiment, but I used the Bold Happy Birthday die set from My Favorite Things to die cut into the scene. I die cut an additional four layers from white cardstock, adhered my scene onto a card base I created from Bright Buttercup cardstock from Papertrey Ink.

I layered my die cuts and puzzle pieced them back into the scene. This way, the sentiment fits even though it’s big.

I printed one of the sentiments in the Candy Shop Scene Creator set, cut it down to a strip that I mounted below the die cut and finished off the card with a few enamel dots from the Pocketful of Sunshine mix from Altenew.

I used a lot of colors for this one!

Let’s Celebrate {Purple Onion Designs}

Hi, crafty friends. I’m back today with a very simple card featuring Let’s Celebrate from the Tofu & Friends summer collection from Purple Onion Designs, illustrated by PEI.

I stamped this cute gang onto X-Press It blending card and colored them with Copics, then used the largest die in the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 from My Favorite Things to create my standard faux stitch edge. I stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Blurbs stamp set using Sour Apple ink from My Favorite Things. It matches the green in the coloring nicely.

I covered the critters with a mask, then used the Bokeh Elements Stencil Duo set from Waffle Flower to create some interest to the rest of the panel. I used Pistachio and Misty Sage fresh dye inks from Altenew for the green and started with Peachy Glow, also fresh ink from Altenew, for the smaller yellow dots. I suspect my stencil wasn’t clean from the last project, because the yellow seemed a bit too muddy for the look I was going for, so I went over with Scattered Straw Distress Ink, which helped. I then rotated the stencil 180 degrees and went in with Simon Hurley Solar Paste in the Golden Hour color. This paste goes on so easily and has a lot of shine. Once the paste was dry, I adhered my panel to a top fold card base I created from Sour Apple cardstock from My Favorite Things, and the card was complete.

The solar paste adds so much shine that I decided not to add any embellishments to this card, making it very mail friendly.

I didn’t use a ton of colors for this one.

Gift tags {Kort & Godt}

Hi, crafty friends! I’m sharing a trio of gift tags today, made for the Kort & Godt gallery blog.

Kort & Godt just released image sheet with a Christmas theme. There are 11 different image sheets to choose from, and somehow, I started with one of the red ones. I don’t know how that happened when there are gorgeous blue and green ones to choose from, but I don’t always do things that make sense.

I used a couple of tag dies (Die 210 and die 211) for the actual tags, die cutting from both patterned paper and plain cardstock (Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink). The patterned paper is from Maja Design, the bottom left one from the Holiday in the Alps collection and the other two from the Joyous Winterdays collection. The images are all from the MA1030 sheet, which has four large images and three smaller ones. I used all the small ones for these, fussy cutting around one of them and creating rectangles from the other two.

On the top tag, I used Die-348 for the word die cut, a sheet of pre-made sentiment sticker strips and a couple of black gems to repeat the color from the sentiment strip.

The left tag I kept very simple, only adding die cuts created with Die 347. I used Dark Chocolate cardstock from Papertrey Ink for the shadow, and Fine Linen, also from Papertrey Ink, for the actual words. I finished the tag with a little bit of bling framing the sentiment.

For the right tag, I pulled out the sentiment sticker strips again and used black cotton thread to tie a bow at the top of the tag – super simple.

I stamped til/fra on the back of each of the tags using Dark Chocolate ink from Papertrey Ink. The stamps are from M-466.
