S(n)o(w) cool {Mo’s Dream Team}

Another Wednesday, another Mo Manning day. This time I’ve got a Christmas tag to share, seeing as Christmas is now less than five months away. Time really does fly. Maybe Ragged Angel will, too – she’s got wings.

I colored her up in reds with a really dark night sky background and lots of snow flurrying through the air. I diecut her and put her on a scalloped circle. Added a few diecut snowflakes and a charm shaped like mittens for a little bit of embellishment.

I stamped a sentiment (No peeking! – not to be opened until Christmas Eve!) on a 1″ circle and glued a pebble on top, just for that tiny bit of dimension.

The back of the tag is very simple. More diecut snowflakes, a stitched snowflake circle and a To/From stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS, stamped using Papertrey Ink Scarlet Jewel ink. I added tiny Kort & Godt pearls to the center of each of the snowflakes.

Birthday {Mo’s Dream Team}

Hi everyone! We’ve reached Wednesday, you know what that means. It’s Mo Manning day!!! Yay!

This time I chose Birthday Fairy Lee and colored her up in yummy, summery colors. I found some scraps of patterned papers that matched and turned all of it into a fairly clean and simple card.

I diecut the banners, as well as the main panel, using dies from My Favorite Things. MFT dies are my favorite, they’re so versatile. I glued part of a doily underneath my banners and stamped a Norsk Stempelblad AS sentiment on the biggest one (It says “BIRTHDAY – a special day that brings together people you love” in Norwegian).

I used a small star punch for my yellow stars, and added a few veneer ones from Studio Calico to put something on the front that wasn’t made from paper. I added a couple of enamel dots to finish it off, simply because the pink color matched everything else perfectly.

I put a tiny cluster on the inside. Another banner diecut using an MFT die, another veneer star and also a polaroid frame, diecut with another MFT die – told you they’re my favorite. A couple of punched little pink hearts and another Norsk Stempelblad AS sentiment (Happiness is being one year older),  and my card was done.

Du har jo bursdag! {Ett trykk}{Mo’s Dream Team}

Enjoy your day {Mo’s Dream Team}

Hi everyone! Another Wednesday has come around, which means another creation with a Mo Manning image around here. This time I went to town with reds, not a color I use a whole lot. I chose Bake Me a Cake, she’s kind of adorable stirring her batter in that big bowl.

I colored her with my Copics and cut my panel down. I wanted to use some scraps of Maja Design patterned paper, so I glued the plaid one and a tiny sliver of red right next to it before putting my panel on foam tape and gluing it to the front of my card.

I stamped and heat embossed a birthday sentiment on a 1″ circle I made from the patterned paper, and glued it to my panel with a pebble on top.

The pebble adds a little bit of shine to an otherwise simple card. So do the enamel dots I put on the left.

Blomster og vin {Ett trykk}

Fore! {Mo’s Dream Team}

Another Wednesday, and another Dream Team contribution for Mo Manning. This time I’ve made a birthday card for an avid golfer. What image would be better than Big Guy Golfing?

I found some scraps of mostly green patterned paper from Maja Design. I had no idea that the club he plays at is named Green Joy, so that was pure luck. I added his age on a flag, thought it was fitting. Not that there’s 50 holes on a course (that much I know), but I’m guessing he gets it anyway.

I colored up my golfer to fit my papers and added a bit of green below his feet and the ball. I love his tongue sticking out, he’s SO focused on making that put!

I added a little cluster of banners in the lower left corner, with a sentiment on one of them. It says “a man at his best age” in Norwegian. I stamped it in Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate ink and added a few veneer stars from Studio Calico as accents.

The inside basically has the same design. I made a pocket for some cash on the left side, with a diecut sentiment and some more stars.

The back is also pretty simple, the first line of a Norwegian birthday song stamped in the same dark brown color that I used for the sentiment on the front of the card. I scattered a few stars here, as well.

Gratulerer med dagen {Ett trykk}

Hipp hurra for nasjonaldagen.

Tekststempelet kommer fra Norsk Stempelblad AS.

Summer’s finally here {Mo’s Dream Team}

Hi. Another Wednesday, and another Mo day for me. Today I’ve got a bright, cheerful, summery card featuring Angelina’s Balloons. Winter lasted forever this year, so I’m very excited about the fact that summer finally seems to have arrived. In fact, there were still a couple of patches of snow on the ground on Sunday, and last night my home town of Oslo was one of the warmest cities worldwide I have listed on my weather app on my phone. The only place that was warmer was New York City. This was around 11 pm CEST, which is only 5 pm in New York, so no wonder it was warmer there.

Back to the card. I colored up my image with Copics and added some grass and a few freehand flowers to ground her. I added tons of Glossy Accents to the balloons, making them super shiny.

I like making my cards simple, so I put her on a standard A2 sized card base made from Raspberry Fizz cardstock from Papertrey Ink, before adding a scrap of a tiny Doodlebug doily, a couple of strips of patterned paper from Maja Design and Papirdesign diecut with dies from My Favorite Things and a couple of tiny staples.

The sentiment is from a stamp set from Norsk Stempelblad AS, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. I added a couple of enamel dots, the pink ones are from Papirdesign, the teal from My Mind’s Eye. I added some divine twine and tied it in a bow as my last finishing touch. And that’s my card for today.

You’re the best {Mo’s Dream Team}

Hi everyone! Another Wednesday, and I’ve got a fairly simple card to share with you today, featuring Mo Manning’s Cotton Candy. I wanted to try out the 120 lb cardstock from Simon Says Stamp for my Copic coloring. They say you can make one layer cards with it, so that was my goal for today’s card. Plans don’t always go the way we want, and that definitely the case for me with this one. It has nothing to do with the cardstock, though, I was able to color without any bleed through, and was able to use it as my base. I did, however, put my image a little too close to the corner. What happened? Well, my printer decided to cut off her feet. I didn’t want my image to go to waste, so I decided to cheat a little and cover up her feet using a strip of patterned paper (it’s actually a digital Project Life paper that I printed on white cardstock). That meant I had to scrap my one layer idea, but I can do one layer another time.

I like plenty of white space on my cards, so I kept most of the card pretty simple. I colored my image with Copics, and I must admit, the colors blend very easily on this cardstock, maybe even too easily. It was kind of difficult to get any real contrast, even though I used some very dark and very light colors to get as much contrast as I could. I would also say that the colors look very different on this cardstock compared to the X-Press It blending card I normally use. The skin tones, in particular, look a lot more blue on this one – not really the look I was going for, I didn’t want her looking sick. I used a lot of E13, but it really doesn’t look that way. Just something to be aware of, I guess.

Since my plan to do a one layer card really didn’t work, I decided to go all out and add an embellishment cluster. I found patterned paper scraps in colors that coordinated well with my image and went to town. I also added a few pieces that I had left over on the inside.

There’s plenty of manufacturers represented in that tiny cluster. The patterned paper with the sentiment (“You’re the world’s best” in Norwegian, stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS) is from Melissa Frances, the yellow one below it is from Chatterbox, the light blue underneath that is from Inkido, and the pink one that you see a little bit of on either side of the banners is from American Crafts. Two of the banners are scraps from Pion Design, the pale pink is from Maja Design, and the one with the yellow stripes is the same digital Project Life paper that I used at the bottom. I’ve also used  a brad from Kaisercraft, a yellow enamel dot from My Mind’s Eye and a pink enamel dot from Papirdesign, in addition to a small paper doily from Doodlebug Design. In other words – a real mishmash, but I think it kind of works. Oh, and I brought out my sewing machine for that stitching detail at the top.

Bursdagsklem {Ett trykk}
