Hi, everyone! I’m back today with another card featuring a cutie from Mo Manning. This is Sheriff, and I turned him into a birthday card. The design of this card, and the super bright colors are a bit unusual for me, but I’m trying to use more of my supplies, and also use them differently than I have in the past. I also don’t normally put this many enamel dots on my cards. 7 is a LOT, I usually go for 2 or 3.
I colored up the image with my Copics. Nothing unusual about that, but these blues are brighter than the ones I normally use. The colored panel was too narrow to fill the width of a regular card, so I decided to put a frame around it. I used one of the wood frame nested dies from Hero Arts to create my frame from Classic Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink, and built up layers by adding a few more frames behind the top one. I created a card bas from Lush Lagoon card stock from Papertrey Ink, and used the By the numbers impression, also from PTI, to create a debossed look to the card base. There’s quite a bit of blue showing outside the frame, so I wanted a little bit of texture there.
Using Limelight card stock from My Favorite Things, I die cut the number (from the By the numbers die set from Papertrey Ink) four times and stacked them for a dimensional look. I adhered the number to the frame using liquid glue, and glued a white heat embossed black sentiment strip on top, with two more layers of black card stock behind that, for even more dimension.
I added a bunch of green enamel dots from Papirdesign, and rummaged through my old patterned paper for one I could make an envelope from. I struck gold with this green one from Pion Design from 2010. I don’t use a lot of patterned paper anymore (at least not big pieces), but I can’t exactly throw it away, either, so I figure it’s perfect to create envelopes from. This way, they get used!
Super bright colors. Well, except for all the browns. I actually used five colors for his sheriff’s badge before I ended up with a color I liked.
I adhered everything to my die cut panel, some directly, and some with a couple of more layers of paper behind them for added dimension. I added a couple of veneer snowflakes from Crafty Moly that I’d already white heat embossed with three layers of super detail embossing powder from Ranger. I used a piece of the strip of 12×12″ paper that has the barcode on it from Papirdesign. Their barcode strips are awesome. One side has the barcode and all the information, the other side of the strip actually has a design on it, so nothing needs to go to waste.
I adhered everything onto a card base I made from Classic Kraft card stock from Papertrey Ink. I didn’t have any colored envelopes to match (and I’ve run out of white envelopes for A2 sized cards), so I used the A2 V Flap Envelope dies from Simon Says Stamp to create an envelope from some larger scraps of Maja Design patterned paper.
As usual, I leave you with the Copics I used. In addition to B0000 and the blender, I also used B90, which is a color I’ve made myself, for the sky.
I realized I hadn’t done my signature cluster in quite some time, so I found a few scraps of patterned paper from the Home for the holidays collection from Maja Design and die cut a couple of tickets from the scraps using my Happy Days Ticket Stubs die from XCut. I adhered them to the top right of the card and cut off the excess, before white heat embossing a couple of snowflakes from Crafty Moly. I white heat embossed part of a sentiment from the Oh penguin tree stamp set from Mama Elephant onto a scrap piece of blue patterned paper, before die cutting it into a banner using one of the fishtail flag frames dies from My Favorite Things. I added that to my cluster with a little bit of dimension behind it, glued a snowflake on top and finished off the card with three blue enamel dots from Papirdesign.
Kind of a muted color palette for this one. I tried to keep it to a minimum, because there’s a lot going on in that image, and I didn’t want the end result to feel cluttered.
I went with a combo of cool Copic colors and even used the E80s, which I hardly ever use. I cut my colored piece down using a faux stitch rectangle die from My Favorite Things.
I used some old scraps of patterned paper to create this card. On my desk I have a container of scraps of patterned paper that I’ve cut down to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″, making them very convenient to use. The paper I used to cover the entire front of the white card base is from My Mind’s Eye (it’s the same sheet as the one I used for the sentiment banner), the one with the white lines running through it is from Autumn Leaves, from their Manhattan line, which happens to be from 2007. I definitely have some old papers in my stash. The lightest piece is from Kaisercraft. I decided to add dark blue enamel dots from Papirdesign to break a little from the monochromatic patterned paper I had going, and also to reintroduce the blue from the image, even though I really like the grayish teal of the jacket and the patterned paper scraps.
I stamped the sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad AS using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and die cut it using one of the fishtail flag frames dies from My Favorite Things.
Quick and easy coloring of this one without too many colors. As usual when I color snow, quite a few of the colors were used for the snow alone. I also used BG71 on the jacket, which is a color I’ve made myself.
As usual, I colored my image with Copics. I usually also create a panel with my colored images, but this time I did some serious fussy cutting, that stem is super thin. Ginger, one of the talented crafty people I follow on Instagram (you can find her 
I used the Detail Ringlet Plate cover die from Simon Says Stamp on a piece of Berrylicious card stock from My Favorite Things. I chopped off 1/4″ on each side, added a few layers of card stock behind for dimension and adhered it to a top fold card base I made out of Stamper’s Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I die cut two tags from the same white card stock and glued them to the panel that was already there.
I glued the girl onto the tag, making sure to put a couple of extra pieces of card stock for stability behind the part of her head that hangs over the edge of the tag. I also added used my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush on her wings, which you can sort of see in the photo if you look closely. I die cut the word hei (hi) four times from Summer Sunrise card stock from Papertrey Ink and glued them together for a stacked look. The sub sentiment is a stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS, stamped in VersaMark and white heat embossed on New Leaf card stock from Papertrey Ink. I also built that up with a few additional layers of cardstock behind it for stability and dimension, and finished the card by adding a couple of enamel dots from Papirdesign.
Here you can see that there’s a lot of dimension in this fairly simple card.

I colored the image with Copics before fussy cutting right up to the black lines. I contemplated leaving a white border, but opted for this look in the end. I feel it’s cleaner, somehow.
For the background I used the Detail Ringlet Plate from Simon Says Stamp on a piece of Sweet Blush card stock from Papertrey Ink, and glued it onto a cardbase made from Stamper’s Select White card stock, also from Papertrey Ink. It’s my favorite white cardstock, and whiter than anything else I’ve tried, which ticks of a huge box for me! I used Gina K. Connect liquid glue on the back of my image to adhere it to the textured background.
I die cut the Happy Birthday Brush Script die from Simon Says Stamp five times from Spring Rain card stock from Papertrey Ink, glued them together for a stacked look and adhered the layered die cut directly on top of the cake and the textured pink background. I stamped and white heat embossed part of a sentiment from the Bitty Bears stamp set from My Favorite Things onto a scrap piece of Spring Rain cardstock, cut it down to a strip and added four more behind it, making it flush with the die cut above. I finished the card by adding a few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
Those stacked die cuts add a lot of dimension to an otherwise very simple card. I pulled out an envelope from My Favorite Things in the color Blue Breeze to match the card, it’s uncanny how well the Blue Breeze color from MFT matches the Spring Rain color from PTI.
Simple images don’t require a lot of colors. However, in addition to these, I did use B90, which is a color I’ve made myself.
I colored the image with Copics, die cut it using a large faux stitch tag die from My Favorite Things and stamped a sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad AS on the bottom using Scarlet Jewel ink from Papertrey Ink. I created three more tag die cuts from the Fröjdefull Jul collection from Maja Design and glued one of them to the back of my colored panel. I glued the other two back to back and glued my two double tags together, slightly offset. I cut a hole at the top of the tag, used a red eyelet for strength and threaded some red twine through, adding a charm with mittens for that little bit extra.
On the back of the tag I stamped a To/From stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS using Smokey Shadow ink from Papertrey Ink, which is a nice dark gray. I attached a couple of loops I made from one of the patterned papers and was able to thread a candy cane through, I just hope the dog doesn’t get into the presents and eats the candy cane.
Very limited color palette for this one, not a whole lot to color.
I decided to go for a version in gray and green, and used a die from Papirdesign to create a scallop heart for the front of my gift tag. I stamped a sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad AS using Ripe Avocado ink from Papertrey Ink.
I diecut a regular tag shape from patterned paper from Maja Design using a die from My Favorite Things and glued the scalloped heart to the regular tag.
For the back of the tag I die cut the regular tag shape again from that same patterned paper as the one for the front, as well as a second scalloped heart from white cardstock. I used the same green ink as I did on the front to stamp the To/From stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS.
Not a lot of Copics used for this one, but it’s a small image.
This is a simple one. I colored 
On the back of the tag I die cut an additional two tags from patterned paper from Maja Design and stamped a To/From stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS using Olive Twist ink from Papertrey Ink. I used a couple of strips of patterned paper to get a candy cane in there, as well.
I added some twine through the top of the tag and even a snowflake charm, but let the rest be very simple. I’m hoping this penguin will put a smile on my sister’s face, she loves penguins, and this one is going to her and her husband.
Lots of grays for the penguin, and also quite a few greens. I love this green combo.
I decided to go for a teal and gray color combo today, and white berries on the wreath instead of red ones. I just used a gray colored pencil to trace around the outline of the berries, everything else is noline colored using Copics. I used a stitched tag die from My Favorite Things to create the actual tag.
I diecut a couple of pieces of scraps of patterned paper using the same die. I chose Julbukett from the Fröjdefull Jul collection from Maja Design and Good Cheer from the Christmas Magic collection from Fancy Pants Designs, which happens to be a collection from 2009, I have a lot of patterned paper. I stamped a to/from stamp from Norsk Stempelblad AS using Hawaiian Shores ink from Papertrey Ink straight onto the patterned paper. I made a hole at the top, added an eyelet, some twine and a bell, and my tag was done.
