Christmas in May

Yes, I’ve made another Christmas card. Why? Seriously, is there a free minute in November/December to sit down and enjoy making Christmas cards? I’ve started early. I entered this card into the KOM challenge at scrapping.no  last week. The idea for a Christmas card came to me as soon as I saw the sketch we were supposed to follow.

As always my image (this time “Star of Wonder” by Lili of the Valley) is stamped on X-Press It and colored with Copics.

I’ve used patterned papers from Maja Design’s “Gammaldags Jul” collection (oldfashioned Christmas). The inside stamp is the lyrics to “Silent Night” in Norwegian.

I’ve made the back very simple, a few pearls and a fir tree from Inkido and a “Christmas mail” stamp from Papirloftet.

I’ve used the following Copics to color my image (which was somewhat difficult as Copics don’t have reds that match the patterned papers I’ve used):

PP: “Pyntat och fint” and “Julbak” from Maja Design’s “Gammaldags Jul” collection

CS: Bazzill French Vanilla and brown (don’t remember the exact name of this brown).

Size: 6×6″

Embellies: Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from Bikuben, pearls from Kaisercraft (brown) and Inkido (red)

Stamps: Inkido – “Gran”, Papirloftet – “Julepost”, LOTV – “Star of Wonder”, Stempelglede – “Glade Jul” – “Gledelig Jul”

Birthday boy, pt. 2

I mentioned last week that I’ve gotten two orders for birthday cards for 40-year-olds. This is the second one.

The image is “Flirty Seniors” from “Make It Crafty“, as usual printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. The text reads something like “80 years is nothing”.

Inside I put a panel for a little greeting, as well as a little “booklet” on the left tied with a bow of seam binding colored with blue and green Copics.inside

inside fully opened

The text reads: “Huh? Only half? Oops! Missed a little!” (left). “This is half!” (right) This “little” guy is about half the size of the one on the front, thus the “half” thing.

Page 3 and 4 in my little booklet. “This is the better half!” (left) “Now you can choose! Happy 40th birthday!” (right)inside left p. 3-4

On the back I put the name of the birthday boy and his birthday.back

My email and blog address are on the inside flap of the back along with the following phrases: “This card is handmade by Elin Venge. A unique and special copy just for you!”

Yet Another Wedding Card

I keep getting orders for wedding cards. And I keep using Maja Design’s “Fika” collection when I make them.

The image is the same bride and groom digi stamp from Mo Manning as the one I’ve used before. It’s printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.

PP: “Mandelkaka” and “Hemma hos mig” from Maja Design’s “Fika” collection.

CS: “Bouquet” from Bazzill
