It’s time for our midway inspiration for the current challenge at CopicMarkerNorge – anything goes. I’ve made this very clean and simple card using a hydrangea image by Aurora Wings. I love hydrangeas and this image was a blast to color. I made four different cards with this image, I’ll show the other three later.
I decided to focus on the image for this one. The card size is a bit odd, it measures 5 1/2 x 5 7/8″. The image is printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with the Copics listed at the bottom of this post. I diecut the flower with a Lifestyle Crafts die (Nesting Squares) and did the same with the purple panel underneath (using a die from the Nesting Rectangles set), cutting a wide V shape in the Maja Design patterned paper to make a banner. I added some foam tape to the back of my flower panel and added it to the card front. Realizing I didn’t have room for a sentiment, I fiddled around for a while trying vellum and other things, but nothing worked, so I decided to stamp my sentiment directly on the flower. I used my antistatic powder, stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and white heat embossed my greeting. I finished off the card with a little bit of Panduro bling.
The Copics I used for my hydrangea. I like the two-toned effect that I got using BVa and Vs for the purple.
