When I first heard that Pantone chose blue as the color of the year for 2020, I almost did a little happy dance. My favorite color!! The color is 19-4052 TCX Classic Blue, to be exact, and it is a gorgeous, fairly dark blue. I can finally be on trend with all my blue creations.
I’ve got Tall Cake coming at you today, and what better way to kick off the new year than with blue, and lots of it? I’ve set myself a goal (not a new year’s resolution, I hate those, they set you up to fail) to use more of my scraps. I dug through my blue patterned paper scraps (of which I have many) and found a floral one and a darker, more solid one that was perfect for white heat embossing.
I quickly found out that the closest Copic color to that specific Pantone color is B99. How perfect is that, the B90s are my favorite blues in all the land. I colored my image and glued it to my card base with lots of foam tape. All I did embellishment wise was add a couple of those little diecut banners (they’re so wide you can hardly see the V shape) and enamel dots from Papirdesign. The white heat embossed sentiment is from Norsk Stempelblad AS.
I love anything and everything blue – expect to be bombarded with lots of blue this year!
