I’ve made this birthday card for my niece, who turned four on Monday. We’re celebrating her birthday today, though, along with her brother’s birthday and her mother’s birthday. I just hope I can make it, I’ve struggled with massive migraines all week. Tilda with balloon is colored with Copics as usual, her balloon got a healthy dose of glossy accents, her bow has a little bling from Kort og Godt. Little tip: Don’t put glossy accents and bling on the image before you send it through the die cutting machine of your choice. I wasn’t planning on cutting this image out with a die, but wound up doing it anyway. I had, however, already added the bling and the glossy accents.. The bling is now more or less flat and the balloon has a few cracks in it. It’s not discernible in the photos, but you’ll see them in real life if you look real close and know they’re there.
I’ve used a stamp from Stempelglede on the edge of the panel Tilda is on. I’ve also used copious amounts of liquid pearls around my image, the wonderfully talented Camilla tends to do that, and I think it looks so pretty on her projects, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
I’ve hidden this tag that I’ve made with a TH Sizzix die with a birthday greeting from North Star Stamps behind the image.
I’ve zoomed in on my image. Here you can also see the flowers I’ve used, which is a combination from Wild Orchid Crafts and Papirdesign. The little letters you see in the bottom left corner are from Kaisercraft.
A couple of Hello Kitty charms. I was through my Hello Kitty stuff in the late 80s/early 90s, and I don’t think I ever had more than a ruler and a pencil. I don’t really care much for Hello Kitty anyway, but my niece loves the little Japanese kitten, and I got these charms as hostess gifts for a swap I organized a while back.
As you can see from the above image, this card is no different from my normal cards in that I’ve decorated the inside too. This time it’s heaps of text.
Basically this is a very short summary of various things that happened around the world in 2007, the year the birthday girl was born.
On the back I’ve put Mini Tilda with ballon on a doily, and that’s pretty much it. Crackle accents on the balloon on this one, and plenty of liquid pearls, as well as a little cluster of roses and leaves punched out with an EK Success punch. I love this punch, the cardstock goes through like a warm knife through butter.
Last, but not least, the Copics I’ve used on my project. I’ve forgotten to add E0000 to the container with the Copics, but it was definitely used on the project as I can’t really color skin without it.
