My blog has been silent since December. This year started in the worst way possible, scrapbooking and cardmaking have just not been prioritized. I’ve finally started, though, and my first project of the new year is a card I’ve made as guest designer at Do You Stack Up.

I printed the owl I was given for the project four times and colored it in four different colors, perfect for my nephew who turns four in March.

I’ve used patterned paper from three different manufacturers. The yellow is “Yellow Butterfly” from Magnolia’s Butterfly Dreams collection. The green one is “Geometric Window” (the back) from Making Memories’ Greenhouse collection (Paperie). The red and the blue are both from Maja Design’s Life by the Sea collection, the red one is “Marina Hover”, the blue one is called “Morning Swim”.

The owls are colored with Copics, the colors I’ve used are at the bottom of this post. The green pearls are from Kaisercraft, the others are white pearls from Melissa Frances that I’ve colored with Copics to get the color I want. The owls’ glasses have gotten solid doses of Glossy Accents.

I’ve made the insides very simple. Handwriting with a greeting and a quote from Rabbit about Owl (Winnie the Pooh). I figured I had to have something about an owl inside since I used owls on the front. Pearls colored with Copics, and that’s it for the insides.

Simple back with my nephew’s name in cardstock.

I’ve made the letters with dies from Tim Holtz.

Lastly a peek at the markers I’ve used to color my owls.
